How Much Does Xero Cost? Pricing in 2026

How we price this: SoftwareSift reads these numbers straight off the vendor pricing page, on the date shown, and re-checks them monthly. We report the real price whether or not we earn anything when you sign up -- that independence is the whole point of this page. Numbers are list prices in USD for US plans; promos and per-seat scaling are called out separately so the headline never hides the real bill.

Xero keeps its US pricing simple: three monthly plans separated mainly by invoice and bill limits. Like QuickBooks it runs a heavy intro promo, but the regular monthly rates are clean and easy to budget against.

The real cost (what the headline hides)

The current promo is $5, $11, and $18 a month for the first three months, then the list prices above. Payroll, projects, and expense claims are add-ons on some plans, so a business that needs them pays more than the headline.

Which plan should you pick?

Early ($25/mo) suits very small or new businesses comfortable with the invoice cap; most settle on Growing ($55/mo) once they outgrow 20 invoices a month. To see how Xero compares with QuickBooks and FreshBooks on real annual cost, read our accounting software pricing comparison.
